                           Trivet

                        Studio Clay, 12" x 9"

Handheld

    Studio Clay

This trivet was inspired by a monogram, however instead of using only my initials, I used the initials of my brothers Jacob and Noah as well to represent our family.

For this assignment, I decided to make two projects. As seen above, I made an octopus holding a bubble. I liked making this because I wanted to play with the heights of the tentacles. My other project is a crystal inside a cave, which I enjoyed because I used different textures and added material.

Salt and Pepper Shakers

Porcelain, Red Clay

Shakers- 1.5" x 3"

Base- 11" x 1" x 1"

I decided to make this functional object more sculptural, as I added a base and made the shakers look like flower buds. I used mix mediums of both red clay for the base and porcelain for the shakers. I also experimented with the high fire glazes to produce this earthy, but colorful tone
